Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Eucharistic Ministers at Mass are those who serve the Body and Blood of Christ to the assembly during Mass.
Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick and Homebound those who take Communion, Sunday bulletins, and the encouragement of community to our elderly and sick who are unable to attend Mass or who are homebound.
To be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, you must be a Roman Catholic who has received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. If married, you must have received the Sacrament of Marriage in the Catholic Church. Training is provided.
To learn more, please contact John and Betty Franscell at 249-1616 for Eucharistic Ministers at Mass and Sally Hotckiss at 249-4096 for Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick and Homebound.
Lectors
As Lectors we proclaim the Word of God during the Liturgy, lead the General Intercessions, and read the announcements. A lector has a love of Holy Scripture and the liturgy, sufficient public speaking skills to proclaim the Word of God to the congregation, and the willingness to work on communication skills.
Lectors must have received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. If married, you must have received the Sacrament of Marriage in the Catholic Church. Please contact Joan Jankowski at 495-5242 for more information.
Altar Servers
The primary role of altar servers is to assist the priest at Sunday Masses, weddings, and funerals. We invite parish youth from fourth grade and above to serve in this ministry. We provide training. This is a wonderful ministry experience for our youth. For more information, please contact Teresa Koci at 363-1513.
Ushers
Ushers are an important part of the Eucharistic celebration at St. Timothy's. The men and women who serve in this ministry assist with seating and facilitate the collection and communion aspects of Mass. They help set a welcoming tone for the parish. To join or inquire about this ministry, please contact Mark Vees at 362-1377.
Greeters
Greeters help extend Christ's love, warmth and hospitality to visitors and parishioners arriving at St. Timothy's for Mass. Individuals, couples, and families are encouraged to join this ministry. Greeters welcome people as they come into the church and hand out bulletins and special announcements. To learn more, please contact Patti Church at 643-0205.
Art and Environment
This ministry helps in designing, planning, and decorating the Church for the liturgical year and for various liturgical celebrations. Through the use of flowers, coloring, fabric, statuary and design we enhance the worship environment through the medium of art. We welcome those who enjoy creating an enhanced environment of and worship to share their gifts with us. If you would like to join our team, please contact Bill Kinsey at 249-8860.
Altar Care
Members of the Altar Care take care of all the altar linens and server gowns that are used in the church. Each week a different team gathers, launders, and irons the altar cloths, purificators, and server albs. If you feel inspired to join our team, please contact Georgeann Leigber at 768-8174.
Wedding Coordinators
Wedding Coordinators help coordinate the many different facets of a wedding celebration. They help the liturgy flow smoothly, check that the church is properly prepared; and they assist the wedding party in feeling prepared and at home. They accommodate any special requirements from the Priest and help with the rehearsal for the wedding. To learn more, please contact Sally Hotchkiss at 249-4096 or email at shotchkiss@st-timsrc.org.
Bereavement Ministry
This is a ministry of compassion, understanding, and support for bereaved families. Trained ministers assist families with planning the funeral liturgy and coordinating with the mortuary. A bereavement team is also present during the funeral Mass to offer whatever assistance is needed. For information or if you are in need of help and support, please contact Lind Daw at 495-1828, Violet Weeks-Sides at 249-8859, or Ed Warpeha at 388-0174.
